YOGA

It is nice to start the day with Yoga.  YOGA is a very ancient oriental phylosophy that is getting to be known and practiced in the west.   Because of the busy western lifestyle people are getting more and more stressed.  They start looking for ways to relax not only the body but also the mind.  The word Yoga means union of the body and the mind.  A Yoga class consists of breathing exercises (pranayama), postures (asanas) and relaxation.

With the breathing exercises we learn how to control the breath and hence the mind.  If we consider that the moment we are born we start breathing and the moment we die this is the last thing we do, we can understand  the  importance of breathing consciously .  The body’s intelligence knows how to breathe of course, but it is influenced most of the time by bad habits, emotions, environmental conditions…  The postures  help to get the body strong and flexible.  They are done in coordination with the breath and are very harmonious.  The class is always ended with a long relaxation and as a yoga teacher I know that afer that people feel very different from when they started the class.
